The Benziger story starts in 1980 when Mike Benziger purchased what would become the Benziger estate in Glen Ellen on the slopes of the Sonoma Mountain. Longtime champions of responsible viticulture practices, they started Biodynamic farming at their estate vineyard in 1995, obtaining full certification in 2000, Benziger is a great example of how sustainable farming, when done well, leads to wonderfully distinctive wines.

Our Pinot Noir today comes from a careful selection of vineyards in Pinot friendly Monterey County. After several abnormally hot years, 2019 was largely a return to form for Monterey making for a long, gentle growing season, allowing the grapes to evenly ripen and develop more complex flavors. The end result is a perfectly balanced Pinot showing bright fruit, spice and earthy notes with silky tannins and vibrant acidity. This is a great buy a $20, but at with our case special it is a back the truck up opportunity!
