Longtime champions of responsible viticulture practices, they started Biodynamic farming at their estate vineyard in 1995, obtaining full certification in 2000, Benziger is a great example of how sustainable farming, when done well, leads to wonderfully distinctive wines. Our Pinot Noir today comes from a careful selection of vineyards in Pinot friendly Monterey County. After several abnormally hot years, 2019 was largely a return to form for Monterey making for a long, gentle growing season, allowing the grapes to evenly ripen and develop more complex flavors.
